My New Hobby

My new hobby all started because of Renee.

She attends school from 9-1:30. Actually , her school ends at 12. But I had it extended to 1:30 so that she could have lunch in school. Reason simply being that I did not want her to be fed at home. Sometimes she will want to eat on her own at home. However, most of the times, she just wants us to feed her or she will take an hour or more to eat just a few spoonfuls.

Last year when she was in childcare for 3 full days, the teachers managed to convince her to eat her meals on her own. Thus, when I changed her school this year, I also wanted her to continue eating in school till she no longer needs us to feed her.

Back to my hobby. As her school does not provide lunch, I have to wake up early each morning to prepare her lunch to be packed to school. It started with boring meals that she use to eat at home. Subesequently, a friend of mine , Angie, gave me some blog links for reference. After reading the blogs, I felt so ashamed at myself and also very motivated to start preparing nice meals for renee!

The mothers of those blogs are really incredible! I take my hats of them. The amount of effort they put into making all those meals for their kids!

And of course, making bentos is my new hobby! Before even brushing up my skills, I have already invested so much in the lunch boxes, the accessories etc :) But very satisfying buys :)

One of the most recent lunch boxes. It's really nothing fantastic..but with a new cute lunchbox, new kitty set of cutleries, and kitty sauce containers, it was enough to impress Renee. Her teacher says she ate almost all of her lunch.

In this bento , the stars are carrots, there are some cheese cocktail sausages ( 1st time she's eating them..she's always lazy to chew and always have to be mince meat. Its all my fault ) and also some steamed potatoes. In the sauce containers are tomato and thousand island sauce.
